Building Memories: Coldwell Banker Agent Helps Families of Fallen Heroes

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Orange County has a long tradition of helping local families build memories. Since many of our Coldwell Banker agents can be found on the front lines of their community, they often act as “stewards” of their local neighborhoods as they help improve the quality of life for O.C. families. Trisha Marshall, a sales associate in Newport Beach, is the latest example of how our real estate agents are making a difference.

As a Snowball Express Board member, volunteer and national Snowflake coordinator, Trisha spreads her message of hope through the Snowball Express Foundation—a charity that provides new memories to the children of fallen military heroes since 9/11. Founded in Orange County in 2006, the foundation has literally “snowballed” into a success, attracting scores of corporations and thousands of volunteers.
 Snowflake events are held throughout the year to provide comfort and relief for local families affected most by sudden losses. One of Orange County’s top Snowflake events was the 2nd Annual End of Summer Picnic, “Operation Snowflake Picnic” on Aug. 15 at the William Mason Regional Park in Irvine. Approximately 28 Snowball families and 48 of their Snowball children united—and some reunited—to commemorate the memory of their fallen heroes. With over 250 people in attendance (including the host families from American Airlines and the sheriff’s department), the picnic gave children a welcomed escape, allowing them to honor their fallen heroes in a positive way and providing them with an opportunity to create memories and new friendships.

Trisha takes great pride in giving hope and direction to local families through her volunteer activities, in addition to her work as a Coldwell Banker sales associate.

“One Warm Coat Drive” a Success for Coldwell Banker Office

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and our associates continue in our year-round commitment in serving the community and those in need. The Coldwell Banker Laguna Niguel and Dana Point/San Clemente offices, in conjunction with the Orange County Social Services Department, completed their third annual “One Warm Coat Drive.” “One Warm Coat” is a community service effort assisting in the collection of clean, reusable coats and jackets for donation to local individuals free of charge.

Coats of all sizes were collected over a one-month period. According to Carole Sharp, Coldwell Banker Laguna Niguel sales associate and one of the organizers of the drive, “Helping those in need is one of the most important things we can do, especially for children.” This year’s drive yielded nearly 500 coats and jackets. “No one should have to go without such a basic necessity as a coat,” says Sandra Deering, Branch Manager for both offices.

“Each year the community gets more generous. In 2008, we collected about 100 coats and jackets. In 2009, we collected 350 coats that were distributed within two days.

This year we’d like to thank everyone for an even greater response from our sales associates and community members.” While the “One Warm Coat Drive” is done for this year, you can still help those in need by helping us raise funds for Haiti through our parent company’s charitable foundation. Realogy Announces Campaign to Help Haiti Relief Efforts

I hope that this message finds you and yours in good health and safety. While the recent Southern California storms have been destructive in their own nature, Coldwell Banker and our associates have been focusing our attention to another region of the world in dire need.

On January 20th, Realogy Corporation, Coldwell Banker - NRT’s parent company, announced a campaign to raise funds through the Realogy Charitable Foundation to support the victims of the catastrophic earthquake that devastated Haiti on January 12th. The Realogy Charitable Foundation will distribute all funds raised by employees, franchisees, sales associates, vendors, partners, friends of Realogy and the public directly to the American Red Cross International Response Fund.

Coldwell Banker Hosts Fundraiser for CASA

4th of July is over, summer is in full swing, beaches are full and tourists from all over the world are enjoying a wonderful summer in Southern California. With each day filled with entertainment and activities, Coldwell Banker wants you to remember that there are those less fortunate who still need our attention. Coldwell Banker is a proud sponsor of CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA is dedicated to providing quality intervention and advocacy services for abused, abandoned and neglected children going through the Orange County court system. Scheduled on July 18th at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club located on the water in Corona del Mar, CASA, along with Coldwell Banker, will be hosting a Bahaman style casino, auction, dinner and dancing event entirely to benefit the kids of CASA.
